Mumbai: If you haven’t yet registered for your Aadhaar card, you could soon get this done right at your doorstep. All this, for a price, of course.The state administration plans to deploy registration agents on two-wheelers at the doorstep of people who want the service of registering for an Aadhar card.

Kalady: An Aadhaar card has helped an 80-year-old mother from Kerala, who had been waiting for the past 16 years to hear from her son, trace him to the Agauda central prison in Goa.

The Bombay High Court suggested that the Maharashtra government should consider permitting farmers affected by un-seasonal hailstorms in several districts to open bank accounts on the basis of their Aadhar cards alone.A division bench of Chief Justice Mohit Shah and Justice M S Sanklecha made this suggestion to facilitate affected farmers to avail of government monetary relief.

New Delhi: Delhi government has undertaken an intensive drive to enrol children housed in government and NGO run institutions for issue of Aadhaar cards.

The Department of Women and Child Development has directed all the superintendents and officer-in-charge of the institutions to coordinate with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and ensure that all the children lodged in the institution are provided Aadhaar (UID) Cards.

As many as 70.43 crore Aadhaar numbers have been generated by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) as on November 15, Parliament was informed on Thursday.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Thursday asked the government to clear confusion surrounding Aadhar-linked bank accounts for direct transfer of subsidies under various schemes to beneficiaries.

This will amount to opening of one account for each household in the country," an official statement said. As per the latest figure, about 8 crore accounts have been opened under the flagship financial inclusion scheme of the government.

The Modified Direct Benefit Transfer of LPG (DBTL), which recently came to be known as PAHAL, will not only help consumers get subsidy directly into their bank accounts without Aadhaar, but will also enable them to opt out of receiving subsidy if they choose to.

The Aadhar enrolment process will soon re-start in Hyderabad. The civil supplies department has confirmed that it will re-start the Aadhaar enrolment procedure in Hyderabad very soon. About 15 Aadhar enrolment centres will be setup in Hyderabad city to make the Aadhar registration/enrolment process easier for the resident.

Deadline date for seeding Aadhaar was set to be 31^st December 2014 until which less than 25% consumers’ Aadhar card were linked with their bank account while remaining did not have Aadhar card and were wandering for that. Since the work did not complete in the specified time, the deadline date has been extended till end of March 2014 and the enrollment work re-started in the region. People are reaching in less numbers at the centers because most of them are unaware about the re-started program.
